SAN DIEGO (AP) -A week of practice wasn’t enough to get offensive tackle Jon Runyan ready for his debut with the San Diego Chargers.
Runyan was on the inactive list for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He signed with the Chargers on Tuesday. Runyan hasn’t played since the end of 2008 with Philadelphia. He had microfracture surgery on his right knee in January.
He was signed after right tackle Jeromey Clary was placed on injured reserve with a season-ending ankle injury. Brandyn Dombrowski started at right tackle Sunday.
Defensive end Luis Castillo was inactive due to a calf injury. Alfonso Boone started in his spot. At inside linebacker, Brandon Siler started in place of Kevin Burnett.
The Chiefs signed wide receiver Quinten Lawrence from the practice squad to the active roster.
