FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) – Rex Ryan is making no guarantees.
But the Jets coach still believes his team has a shot at the playoffs, despite the fact New York is 4-7, coming off an embarrassing loss to New England, and hasn’t won two straight games all season.
This year appears to be all but over for the Jets – except that their final five opponents all have records below .500. And that gives Ryan some hope at the Jets running the table and sneaking into the postseason.
“Heck, yeah,” Ryan says Monday. “That’s your goal.”
Several Jets players insist they are focused only on Arizona, their next opponent. Running back Joe McKnight adds: “We’re playing for pride, and we still have a chance to make the playoffs.”
