ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) Add coach Rex Ryan to those wondering why receiver Sammy Watkins isn’t more involved in the Buffalo Bills’ offense.
Ryan says he has emphasized to his staff and quarterback Tyrod Taylor to find more ways to get the ball to the second-year playmaker.
Watkins didn’t have a pass directed his way through the first half of a 20-13 loss at New England on Monday night. He finished with three catches for 39 yards.
Though hampered by injuries for the first seven weeks, the 2014 first-round draft pick has 25 catches for 368 yards and three touchdowns. A majority of his production came in a 33-17 win over Miami three weeks ago, when Watkins had eight catches for 168 yards and a score.
