ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -Running back Ladell Betts and guard Chad Rinehart are done for the season for the battered Washington Redskins.
Coach Jim Zorn said Monday that Betts has damage to both the ACL and MCL in the left knee. Rinehart had surgery to repair a broken leg.
Zorn said both will be placed on injured reserve.
Betts and Rinehart were hurt in Sunday’s 7-6 loss to Dallas – and both were subbing for injured players.
Betts was playing for Clinton Portis, who is sidelined with a concussion. Zorn said Portis will miss his third straight game next week against Philadelphia and could sit out the following week as well.
Rinehart becomes the third Redskins offensive lineman to go on injured reserve this season, joining Chris Samuels and Randy Thomas.
