DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -Miami Dolphins nose tackle Jason Ferguson is out for the season with a quadriceps injury.
Dolphins coach Tony Sparano on Monday confirmed the decision to place Ferguson on injured reserve and said he wasn’t sure if Ferguson would need surgery.
The Dolphins (5-5) face the Buffalo Bills (3-7) on Sunday. The team had a light workout Monday, which was not open to the media.
Ferguson, who turns 35 on Saturday, has been in on 23 tackles in nine games this season.
Miami has also lost quarterback Chad Pennington (shoulder) and running back Ronnie Brown (foot) to season-ending injuries this year.
