ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -Bills starting right guard Eric Wood is recovering after surgery to repair a broken left leg that was so severely damaged CBS elected against showing replays of the hit.
Interim coach Perry Fewell said Monday that the operation to repair two broken bones was performed in Jacksonville on Sunday night, hours after Wood was hurt in an 18-15 loss to the Jaguars. Fewell said travel arrangements had not been completed for the rookie first-round draft pick to return to Buffalo.
Fewell was shaken when recalling how much pain Wood was as he lay on the field, noting “it was not a pretty sight to see.” Wood was hurt early in the fourth quarter when a Jaguars defender rolled into Wood’s leg, bending it sideways.
