FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -The New York Jets continue to find ways to win, even when it appears they’re about to lose.
Their 30-27 victory over Houston on Sunday was the latest in a string of improbable victories, something coach Rex Ryan says “might be better for us in the long run.”
While Mark Sanchez, Santonio Holmes and the offense might have been feeling good after the game, the defense was happy but also angry at themselves for giving up 20 points in the fourth quarter.
Linebacker Bryan Thomas says Monday that the defense knows it needs to tighten things up in a hurry, especially with a game against the pass-happy Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday.
Thomas says the defense can’t “keep relying on Sanchez and Santonio to bail us out.”
