ST. LOUIS (AP) – Danny Amendola, the St. Louis Rams’ leading receiver, was back on the field for the second half after injuring his right foot right before the break.
The team had said Amendola’s return was questionable. He left the field in the final minute of the first half after a Jets player rolled onto his leg on an incomplete pass.
Amendola entered with 43 receptions and caught his fifth pass of the game on a 9-yarder for a first down on the Rams’ first possession of the second half. He started for the second straight week after missing three games with a collarbone injury.
Rams backup linebacker Mario Haggan injured his right elbow early in the first quarter and the team said shortly after halftime that he would not return.
A Jets player landed on Haggan at the end of a 1-yard carry by backup quarterback Tim Tebow out of the wildcat formation on the third play of the game. After walking off the field, Haggan flung his helmet to the turf before leaving with medical personnel for testing.
Haggan has played in seven games with 10 tackles and one sack.
