EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -The Minnesota Vikings have to put more pressure on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers this week.
After sacking Rodgers 14 times in two victories over the Packers last season, the Vikings didn’t take him down once in a loss at Lambeau Field last month.
All-Pro defensive end Jared Allen faced mostly one-on-one matchups with Packers left tackle Chad Clifton in that game, but Allen wasn’t able to take advantage. Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier says he’s hoping for the same situation on Sunday and is confident Allen will come through this time.
The Packers have kept Rodgers from being sacked in three of nine games this year. The Vikings led the NFL in sacks last season, but they’re tied for 24th in the league this year with just 14.
