PITTSBURGH (AP) -Doctors say Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook has improved significantly over the last three days following a second concussion in a three-week span.
Westbrook was evaluated Wednesday at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center with a battery of neuro-cognitive tests. He also had a comprehensive physical and neurological exam with favorable results. Doctors say they plan to repeat the tests in two to three weeks.
Westbrook sustained a concussion on Oct. 26 in a game against Washington. He sat out for two weeks and then was reinjured Sunday during his return to the lineup at San Diego.
Westbrook won’t play this Sunday at Chicago against the Bears, and it’s unknown if he’ll return at all this season.
