ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -There are times Albert Haynesworth wishes he were still playing for the Tennessee Titans.
Haynesworth spoke Wednesday about his first game in Nashville since he left the Titans after seven seasons. He signed with a big-money deal last year with the Washington Redskins, who visit Tennessee on Sunday.
Haynesworth said he feels as if he could still be a dominant player had he stayed with the Titans. But he cited the team’s history of not giving big contracts to defensive lineman as a reason for leaving.
He said he felt like a “showpiece” in his first season with the Redskins. He said he’s starting to feel more comfortable in a role he feels suits his talents better, even though he’s essentially a role player off the bench.
