FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -Braylon Edwards expects “serious” boos from Browns fans on Sunday when the New York Jets play in Cleveland, a city with which he says he has a “personal war.”
Edwards, who spent four-plus tumultuous seasons with the Browns, says Wednesday he is happier in New York than he ever was in Cleveland.
The wide receiver says he had to stop himself from doing “a dance” in Browns coach Eric Mangini’s office when he informed him on Oct. 7, 2009, that he had been traded. Edwards adds that he “couldn’t get out of Berea fast enough,” a reference to where the Browns train.
Edwards says he’s doing everything he can to remain with the Jets after this season, and with one exception – his DWI arrest in September – he hasn’t been a distraction.
