ATLANTA (AP) -New Orleans cornerback Mike McKenzie was carted off the field Sunday after injuring his right knee.
McKenzie suffered the injury late in the third quarter while defending a third-down pass to Michael Jenkins. McKenzie was examined on the field before trainers called for a cart. There was no immediate report on the severity of the injury.
The 10-year veteran cornerback missed the season opener while still recovering from a torn right anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in the Saints' 15th game against Philadelphia last season.
He has played in seven games, including six starts, and entered Sunday's game with 23 tackles and one interception. He has 27 career interceptions.
