HOUSTON (AP) -Houston coach Gary Kubiak and his players are taking turns accepting responsibility for the team’s mistakes after Sunday’s loss to San Diego.
The bigger issue is that the Texans seem to be making more mistakes as the season wears on. They’re running out of time to get it right.
Houston (4-4) has dropped four of six games since a 2-0 start. The Texans play at Jacksonville (4-4) this week, a critical division game that Houston needs if it’s going to back up preseason talk about earning the franchise’s first playoff berth.
The players say Kubiak’s tone was mostly positive in Monday’s meeting. He complimented the overall performance, but lamented the handful of plays that cost Houston the game.
