LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -Chicago Bears receiver Earl Bennett is apparently OK after an early morning accident that damaged his car.
The Illinois State Police say Bennett’s 1973 Chevy Impala was hit from behind by a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire in Chicago early Monday.
Master Sgt. Jeff Kashmeier says no one was injured and alcohol was not involved. He says the driver of the Pontiac was cited for driving with a suspended or revoked license and for failing to reduce speed.
Kashmeier says Bennett had a passenger with him but isn’t sure who it was.
The accident happened a day after the Bears beat Buffalo 22-19 in Toronto. Bennett had four catches for 52 yards and a touchdown in that game.
