After beating the Rams 34-13, the Cardinals have won four in a row in St. Louis, their home from 1960-87, and four straight over the Rams overall. … Cincinnati’s Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a pair of touchdown passes to Chad Ocho Cinco, who celebrated by giving the head coach a kiss, and Cincinnati stopped a late 2-point conversion try Sunday, preserving a 21-19 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars and ending its season-opening eight-game losing streak. … Buffalo has dropped three of four and squandered the momentum it generated after getting off to a 4-0 start. After losing to the New York Jets, the Bills are 5-3 and tied with them atop the division. … The New York Giants got their fifth straight win at home by beating Dallas 35-14, allowing the Super Bowl champions to open a three-game lead over the defending NFC East champs.

Lions, and their first in the second quarter since Nov. 22, 1987, at Philadelphia. … Detroit (0-8) is the league’s only winless team after falling to Chicago 27-23. Cincinnati got its first win of the season, beating Jacksonville 21-19.

After Cleveland allowed 14 points to Baltimore that tied the game, wide receiver Braylon Edwards dropped of a certain long touchdown early in the fourth quarter with the score tied. Baltimore went on to win 37-27. … In Houston’s 28-21 loss at Minnesota, the Texans got the ball back with 1:57 left at their own 10, but Sage Rosenfels was sacked twice to end any chance of tying it. Jared Allen reached out from around his blocker and yanked him to the turf with one hand on third down, and Kevin Williams finished him off on fourth down. … Chicago QB Rex Grossman was 9-of-19 passing for 58 yards in a shaky performance subbing for injured Kyle Orton, who finished 8-of-14 passing for 108 yards in the Bears’ 27-23 win over the Lions.
SIDELINED
over Detroit. … Houston’s Matt Schaub sat out for the second half with a swollen knee. Replacement Rosenfels was intercepted by Madieu Williams in the end zone in the third quarter, and the Vikings stopped the Texans’ three-game winning streak with a 28-21 victory. … In Kansas City, Chiefs running back Kolby Smith was carted off the field with a sprained knee in the third quarter of a 30-27, overtime loss to Tampa Bay. Smith had a 1-yard TD run and ran for 46 yards on 10 carries before getting hurt.
