CLEVELAND (AP) -Browns quarterback Brady Quinn lined up for his first NFL start behind an offensive line missing starting left guard Eric Steinbach, who sat out Thursday night’s game against the Denver Broncos with a rib injury.
Steinbach, a Pro Bowler last season, pulled a muscle in his rib area in Sunday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He was replaced by Seth McKinney, who started eight games at right guard last season. Steinbach had started all seven games this season and 16 in 2007, his first year with Cleveland.
Quinn was making his first start as a pro following coach Romeo Crennel’s benching of Derek Anderson.
The Browns were also without fullback Lawrence Vickers.
who is out for a month after injuring his left knee last week in a loss to Miami. Wesley Woodyard started in Williams’ spot. Denver was again without Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey (groin), who injured his groin two weeks ago at New England.
