RENTON, Wash. (AP) -Seahawks rookie left tackle Russell Okung is “as doubtful as you can get” for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
Coach Pete Carroll said after practice Friday that Chester Pitts will start at left tackle, his first start there since the 2005 season. He’ll do it against a defense that is tied for the league lead with 24 sacks.
Pitts missed practice Friday to attend a funeral.
With Pitts moving to tackle, Mike Gibson will start at left guard, but also could be called on to back up Pitts at tackle.
Wide receiver Mike Williams returned to practice and should be able to go against the Giants. Defensive tackle Brandon Mebane remains a question mark.
