MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Minnesota could be without defensive end Jared Allen for this weekend's game against Green Bay.
Allen suffered a sprained right shoulder in Sunday's win over Houston, an injury he played through, and managed two of the team's five sacks. Afterward, Allen dismissed any concern about his condition by saying, ``It's football. You get beat up.''
But Vikings coach Brad Childress said Monday he's not sure if the 2007 All-Pro player with Kansas City will be able to recover in time to play the archrival Packers. Allen is tied for the team lead with Kevin Williams with seven sacks in eight games.
Bills
Safety Donte Whitner has a separated right shoulder and isn't likely to play Sunday at New England.
Bills coach Dick Jauron said Monday that Whitner's status is week to week after he was hurt in the second half Sunday against the Jets.
Whitner was the Bills' first-round draft pick in 2006 out of Ohio State.
Buffalo has fallen to 5-3 after winning its first four games as injuries continue to deplete the defense.
Browns
us isn't ready to end his NFL career, vowing he will come back and play for his hometown team next season.
Jurevicius revealed Monday he has had five procedures to clean out a staph infection in his right knee following arthroscopic surgery in January. He'll soon have another operation to clean out scar tissue.
Jurevicius said he'll have surgery in Vail, Colo., instead of at the Cleveland Clinic, where he had the previous operation.
The 33-year-old receiver is one of at least five Browns players known to have contracted staph since 2005.
Jurevicius, who has also played for the New York Giants, Tampa Bay and Seattle, said he intends to end his career by walking off the field wearing an orange helmet with his two daughters at his side.
