MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Brad Childress and the Minnesota Vikings have another mess on their hands.
Randy Moss’s abrupt release on Monday was just the latest in what has been a season long on drama and short on success. Childress cut the receiver after a loss at New England, less than a month after he arrived in a trade from the Patriots.
The Vikings season has been a mess from the start. Brett Favre’s late arrival in training camp, an NFL investigation into improper messages allegedly sent by the quarterback a few years ago and Moss’s release are three high-profile incidents that have dominated the headlines.
The veteran team started the season with Super Bowl aspirations. But the loss on Sunday dropped them to 2-5 and now the Vikings are scratching just to get back in the playoff picture.
