ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -Jim Schwartz knows that the Detroit Lions need to find some big plays and fast.
He also knows that as long as star receiver Calvin Johnson is sidelined, those plays will be hard to find.
Schwartz spoke Monday after his Lions (1-6) lost 17-10 to St. Louis in a game that ended the Rams’ 17-game losing streak.
With Johnson sidelined, the Lions have managed one touchdown in two games. On Sunday, Detroit rookie quarterback Matt Stafford didn’t complete a pass to a wide receiver until the fourth quarter.
Schwartz isn’t sure whether Johnson will be ready for Sunday’s visit to Seattle (2-5).
