CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – Now with 23 turnovers, eight touchdowns and little hope for salvaging a miserable season, the Carolina Panthers are setting new standards for offensive ineptitude.
But there will not be another change at quarterback.
Coach John Fox said Monday that Matt Moore will remain the starter ahead of rookie Jimmy Clausen despite throwing three more interceptions in Sunday’s 20-10 loss to St. Louis. Moore has 10 picks and two lost fumbles in four-plus games.
It comes as Fox works in the last year in his contract after management overhauled the roster in the offseason to become the NFL’s youngest team. Fox refused to say his uncertain future is a factor this season, adding “I’ve never really worried about having a job in this league.”
The Panthers host New Orleans on Sunday.
