EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) – Brett Favre isn’t the only one who’s hurting. The Minnesota Vikings are beat up in many ways.
Their Super Bowl aspirations are in serious trouble, after falling to 2-5 following Sunday’s loss at New England. According to sports researcher STATS, three teams have made the playoffs in the last 20 years after starting the season 2-5.
With five of their next seven games at home, the Vikings have a chance to start catching up, but time is running out.
Coach Brad Childress said Monday that Favre told him he was feeling fine after a hard hit to the chin knocked him out of the game against the Patriots. Favre played through two fractures in his left foot and produced one of his best games this season.
But it wasn’t enough.
