KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – The Kansas City Chiefs are unbeaten at home. The road has been a much different story.
Now, the Chiefs’ hold on first place in the AFC West will be tested by a stretch of five of their next seven away from Arrowhead Stadium. It starts this week with a trip to Oakland, which is in second place in the division.
Kansas City is 1-2 on the road, and its offense failed to score a touchdown in two of those games.
Coach Todd Haley says winning on the road is just a matter of everybody sticking together and avoiding distractions. But the Chiefs know what a huge help their own crowd has been in four home games, making noise and rattling the visitors.
Kansas City also has road games against Denver, Seattle, San Diego and St. Louis on the horizon.
