RENTON, Wash. (AP) - The loss of wide receiver Sidney Rice for the season to a knee injury is just the latest problem for the Seattle Seahawks offense.
Seattle must now try to fill Rice's spot in a passing game already struggling due to poor protection for quarterback Russell Wilson.
The Seahawks gave up seven sacks to St. Louis and had just 135 yards of offense in their 14-9 win over the Rams on Monday. Then came the news that Rice suffered a torn ACL in his knee and is done for the year.
Rice's absence will mean more opportunities for wide receivers Golden Tate, Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse. Baldwin and Kearse are expected to split the reps with Rice out.
As for Percy Harvin, coach Pete Carroll said his return is still day-to-day.
