HOUSTON (AP) -With six fumbles, Houston running back Steve Slaton has coughed up the ball more than any non-quarterback in the NFL.
He’s lost four of those six, leaving him tied for second in that category behind struggling Oakland quarterback JaMarcus Russell.
The Texans don’t know why Slaton is struggling with ball security this season after fumbling just three times as a rookie last year.
Coach Gary Kubiak says everyone is trying to help, but it’s up to Slaton to get it fixed.
Slaton is hoping to get on track this week against Buffalo’s NFL-worst run defense, which is giving up 172.4 yards a game.
