ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley will probably be placed on season-ending injured reserve this week after breaking his right ankle.
Coach Jim Zorn said Monday that Cooley will need at least six to week eight weeks to recover. It’s yet to be determined if the two-time Pro Bowl player will have surgery.
Cooley was hurt on the first play of the second quarter of Monday night’s 24-17 loss to Philadelphia.
With 10 weeks left in the season, Zorn said the team will likely put Cooley on IR to clear a roster spot for another tight end.
