ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -Vinny Cerrato believes he gave Jim Zorn a roster that can make the playoffs.
The Washington Redskins’ front office chief made a rare appearance before reporters Tuesday to talk about the team’s 2-5 start. He called the record “frustrating and disappointing” but said he felt the roster he assembled had playoff potential.
The lack of depth on the offensive line is a sore point. Clinton Portis said Monday it was an issue that wasn’t addressed – “and it came back to haunt us.”
Cerrato said he tried to address the line in the offseason but that finding quality depth isn’t always easy.
The Redskins have a bye following Monday night’s 24-17 loss to Philadelphia.
