IRVING, Texas (AP) -Pro Bowl linebacker DeMarcus Ware and the Dallas Cowboys have finally agreed on a contract extension.
The team called a news conference for 4:30 p.m. CDT Monday to announce the signing of a player. The purpose of the news conference was confirmed by a person with knowledge of the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity because the Cowboys had not yet announced it.
Several media outlets also reported an extension would be announced.
FOXSports.com reported the extension was a six-year deal worth nearly $13 million per season and approaching $40 million in guaranteed money.
Ware was the NFL’s sacks leader last season with 20. He has four in the last two games after being shut out the first four this season.
