CINCINNATI (AP) – Receiver A.J. Green didn’t suit up for practice again on Wednesday, leaving the Bengals without their best receiver heading into a pivotal game in a season that could be quickly slipping away.
A 3-0 start stamped them as an up-and-coming team. They’ve come apart in the last two games, taking a pair of losses and a tie while slipping behind Baltimore (5-2) in the AFC North. The Ravens visit on Sunday.
Cincinnati (3-2-1) has been hit hard by injuries, but that’s not the whole story. A defense that returned virtually intact has been shredded for three games in a row, giving up 500 yards in two of them.
Another loss on Sunday would give the Ravens control of the division.
