FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -New York Jets coach Rex Ryan is going to use a committee of defensive linemen to help make up for the loss of injured nose tackle Kris Jenkins.
Jenkins is on season-ending injured reserve after he tore the ACL in his left knee in the Jets’ 16-13 overtime loss to Buffalo on Sunday. The 6-foot-4, 360-pound Jenkins was a huge reason for New York’s success against the run, routinely drawing two blockers.
Sione Pouha, Howard Green, Marques Douglas and Mike DeVito will begin the task of stepping in for the four-time Pro Bowl selection Sunday when the Jets (3-3) play at Oakland (2-4).
Ryan said he’ll “roll that whole group,” and is confident the Jets’ defensive line will still be difficult to handle.
