EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) – Detroit Lions quarterback Shaun Hill was knocked out of Sunday’s game against the Giants late in the first half with an injured left arm.
The team did not disclose the severity of the injury but said Hill would not return.
Hill was hit by Giants defensive tackle Barry Cofield on an incomplete pass to Kevin Smith. He immediately left the field and was replaced by Drew Stanton, who started the second half.
Hill returned to the Lions’ bench late in the third quarter with his left arm in a sling.
Matthew Stafford is the Lions’ third quarterback for the game.
