FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) – Mark Sanchez has gone five games without throwing an interception, despite being far from perfect this season for the New York Jets.
The second-year quarterback has had a huge turnaround after being intercepted 20 times as a rookie. His teammates say Sanchez’s ball security is a major reason the Jets are among the NFL’s best teams with a 4-1 record.
Sanchez is the league’s only quarterback with at least 100 attempts without an interception. The only other player who has had significant playing time and hasn’t been intercepted is Philadelphia’s Michael Vick, who has thrown just 96 passes.
While luck has had something to do with Sanchez’s success, Braylon Edwards says it’s also a product of his quarterback’s rapid development.
