ST. LOUIS (AP) – Danario Alexander signed with the St. Louis Rams in late August as something of a longterm project given he was still rehabbing from a fourth operation on his left knee.
Injuries at wide receiver have forced the Rams to alter that timetable, and on Sunday the former Missouri star wide receiver might make his NFL debut. Coach Steve Spagnuolo was non-committal about Alexander’s chances of playing against the San Diego Chargers.
Alexander is on the roster. He replaces Mark Clayton, who was placed on injured reserve with a torn patella tendon in his right knee. Top deep threat Donnie Avery went on IR in the preseason with a knee injury.
