SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -The Philadelphia Eagles scratched receiver Kevin Curtis from their starting lineup against the 49ers on Sunday, delaying his season debut for another week.
Curtis hasn’t played after undergoing surgery on a sports hernia during the preseason. The Eagles’ leading receiver last season was expected to play in San Francisco, but Hank Baskett took his place in the starting lineup.
Fellow starting receiver Reggie Brown, All-Pro running back Brian Westbrook and guard Shawn Andrews also were scratched with injuries. Westbrook, who missed his second game in three weeks because of two broken ribs, is expected to return Oct. 26 after Philadelphia’s bye week.
