NEW ORLEANS (AP) -Saints running back Reggie Bush tied an NFL record with his 200th career catch in only his 34th game on Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.
The only other NFL player to catch 200 passes in his first 34 games is Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin. Bush’s mark stands alone among running backs.
Bush tied Boldin’s record with a 21-yard reception in the first quarter on a play in which he went in motion out of the backfield and lined up as a slot receiver. His catch near the sideline helped the Saints drive deep into Raiders territory before rookie kicker Taylor Mehlhaff missed his first NFL field goal attempt, allowing Oakland to remain on top 3-0 late in the opening quarter.
