CINCINNATI (AP) -The Cincinnati Bengals signed safety Jon Busing to the 53-player roster from their practice squad on Wednesday.
Busing, from Miami (Ohio), is a second-year NFL player. He signed a two-year contract.
Busing played in seven games as a rookie last season and was with the Bengals in the 2007 preseason before being waived Sept. 1. He was signed the next day to the practice squad.
The Bengals also signed kicker Josh Huston to the practice squad. Huston, from Ohio State, is a rookie. He opened 2007 with the New York Giants and was 3-for-4 on field goals in preseason, including a 50-yarder.
Busing was waived by the Giants on Sept. 1.
Also on Wednesday, the Bengals placed cornerback Johnathan Joseph on the reserve-suspended list. Joseph, who has been suspended by the NFL for Sunday’s game at Kansas City, will be eligible to rejoin the roster on Oct. 15.
Joseph was suspended for violating the league’s substance abuse policy in January.
