NEW YORK (AP) – Jets nose tackle Kris Jenkins will attempt another comeback, eager to continue his playing career despite sustaining a season-ending knee injury for the second straight year.
Jenkins wrote on his Facebook page Thursday night that he has “decided to give it one more shot.” He tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his surgically repaired left knee in the team’s opener against Baltimore. He had surgery to repair the latest injury last week.
The 10-year veteran tore the same ACL midway through last season.
The New York Times first reported Jenkins’ decision on its website Thursday night.
Jenkins says he will wear knee braces in the future, doesn’t care who disagrees with his decision and is “crazy enough to pull it off.”
