EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -Minnesota defensive end Jared Allen is playing at an All-Pro level again and now leads the NFC in sacks.
Allen took advantage of a major Packers weakness on Monday by sacking Aaron Rodgers 4 1/2 times. Allen has 6 1/2 sacks this season.
Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier says he saw Allen elevate his performance in the victory over Green Bay to reflect the intensity of the matchup. Allen’s presence in the pass rush has been a boon for the Minnesota defense since he arrived last year.
Allen has received a lot of attention from tight ends and running backs assigned to help block him. Frazier has sometimes moved Allen from the right side to the left side of the line to force opponents to alter their blocking schemes.
