ASHBURN, Va. (AP) – Donovan McNabb says he likes to spread the ball around. So far, he’s had no luck doing that with the Washington Redskins.
Through four games, Santana Moss has caught 22 of McNabb’s passes. No other wideout on the team has more than four.
That means it’s been the usual tandem of Moss and tight end Chris Cooley carrying the weight of the passing game. Cooley has 16 receptions.
Only the Minnesota Vikings have thrown fewer touchdown passes than the Redskins this season. McNabb has two to Cooley and one to Moss.
McNabb says it’s a product of learning a new offense, and that he’ll be able to distribute the ball better as he gets more comfortable in the system.
