FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) – Matt Ryan keeps shrugging off any suggestion that he’s trying to make up for his playoff failures.
Whatever the case, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback has taken his game to a new level.
A quarter of the way into the season, Ryan is the NFL’s top-rated passer and a big reason the Falcons (4-0) have matched the best start in franchise history.
True to his nature, Ryan dismisses any talk about being an early MVP contender. He says it’s far too soon to call this season a success, knowing the most important games are still months away.
In the end, Ryan will make his reputation in the postseason. He’s guided the Falcons to the three playoff appearances, but never won. That’s still a big hole in his resume.
