CINCINNATI (AP) – The first time Tom Brady dropped to pass, he got sacked. His final pass was intercepted near the goal line, ending one of the NFL’s most impressive streaks of getting into the end zone.
The Bengals (3-0) beat New England 13-6 when they played at Paul Brown Stadium last Oct. 6. They ended Brady’s streak of 52 consecutive games with a touchdown pass, the second-longest in NFL history. Brady completed only 47.4 percent of his passes – a season low – for 197 yards with an interception and a passer rating of 52.2 that also was his season low.
The Patriots (2-2) must do a better job of protecting Brady in their rematch with the Bengals on Sunday night.
