INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney has a strained right quadriceps but has not ruled himself out of Sunday’s game against Seattle.
Freeney, a four-time Pro Bowler and former league sacks champ, said Wednesday he wakes up each morning hoping to return to practice. He was injured on the last play of the third quarter of Sunday’s game at Arizona.
Some reports have said Freeney will miss two to three weeks with the injury.
Freeney declined to put a timetable on how long it would take to return. He says he is walking fine but it will take more than that to practice – or play at game speed.
