METAIRIE, La. (AP) – Saints quarterback Drew Brees says he’s wearing a brace on his left knee but is not having any trouble practicing.
Brees was not listed on the Saints’ injury report on Wednesday and coach Sean Payton says it’s because there’s no injury to report, only soreness.
Brees says his left knee was hurting after he took a hit from defensive end John Abraham as he threw a fourth-down pass to Jeremy Shockey late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s overtime loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Brees says he isn’t sure whether he’ll wear the brace in Sunday’s game against Carolina.
Meanwhile, safety Roman Harper sat out practice with a hamstring injury and running back Pierre Thomas sat out with a left ankle injury. Payton did not provide details on their injuries.
