TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) – Arizona wasn’t particularly efficient on offense, had balls carom off players twice on punts and probably should have lost to Oakland.
Had it not been for the errant left foot of Sebastian Janikowski, the Cardinals would have.
Yeah, they’re feeling fortunate.
Embarrassed in a loss to Atlanta the week before, Arizona escaped with a 24-23 win over Oakland on Sunday when Janikowski missed a chip-shot field goal as time expired. The 10-year veteran is a 90 percent kicker from inside 40 yards in his career, so it was a surprising miss.
The Cardinals will take it, though, getting a win out of a game that included another so-so performance from quarterback Derek Anderson and two potentially devastating gaffes on punt returns.
