CINCINNATI (AP) -Steelers safety Tyrone Carter was in the starting lineup against the Bengals despite a bruised left thigh that forced him to miss practice during the week.
Carter got hurt during a 17-14 loss at Chicago last Sunday. He is filling in for Troy Polamalu, who is out with a knee injury suffered in the season opener.
Steelers linebacker James Harrison also was in the starting lineup Sunday. He missed practice on Friday because of an illness. Receiver Limas Sweed, who sat out the game at Chicago with a sprained foot, was active for the game. One change: tight end David Johnson started at fullback in place of rookie Frank Summers, who has struggled and was inactive.
Bengals left guard Nate Livings was inactive for the second straight game with a knee injury. Evan Mathis started in his place.
