MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Minnesota Vikings tight end Visanthe Shiancoe (vih-SAHN’-tee SHANK’-oh) has left the game with a leg injury, and his return is questionable.
Shiancoe was hurt early in the third quarter on Sunday against Detroit. Team trainers were working on the back of his right leg, in the hamstring area.
With the passing attack struggling, the Vikings can’t afford to lose Shiancoe for a long time. He had 10 catches for 162 yards and a touchdown in their first two games, accounting for more than 40 percent of their passing production.
The Vikings also lost starting center John Sullivan to a left leg injury on their first play from scrimmage. The team called his return questionable. Sullivan missed a large chunk of training camp because of a calf injury.
