PITTSBURGH (AP) – The struggling Pittsburgh Steelers insist they are winless but not hopeless after a 40-23 loss to Chicago on Sunday night dropped them to 0-3 for the first time in more than a decade.
The Steelers turned it over five times against the unbeaten Bears (3-0). Chicago turned four of the miscues into points, including a pair of defensive touchdowns. Pittsburgh has given the ball away nine times through three games without forcing an opponent’s turnover. The team’s minus-nine turnover differential is tied with the New York Giants for worst in the NFL.
Only three teams have recovered from an 0-3 start to make the playoffs since 1990. The Steelers believe they can make it four with a little discipline on offense and a little more aggression on defense.
