WALNUT, Calif. (AP) -The city of Walnut has approved a legal settlement in exchange for dropping objections to a proposed NFL stadium development in a neighboring Southern California city.
City Council members voted 3-1 to approve the settlement during a closed session Tuesday night.
Councilman Joaquin Lim says he voted no but he and the council are bound by a confidentiality agreement not to disclose details of the settlement until the parties release a joint statement on Thursday.
Walnut sued Industry over plans for an $800 million venue in March, claiming the neighboring city approved the project without sufficiently reviewing its environmental impact.
Industry City Manager Kevin Radecki did not return a call for comment.
