BEREA, Ohio (AP) -Cleveland Browns running back Jamal Lewis was not on the field for the beginning of practice, leaving his status for Sunday’s game at Baltimore in question.
Lewis, who has rushed for 95 yards this season, was in the locker room but then wasn’t with his teammates as they stretched and went through drills during the 30 minutes of practice open to the media. The Browns had no immediate word on Lewis.
The team will release an injury report later on Wednesday.
Lewis was listed as probable with a neck injury last week. He had suffered a stinger in the season-opening loss to Minnesota.
The Browns need Lewis this week as they’ll be facing the Ravens’ top-ranked run defense, which is yielding just 41 yards per game.
